This collection consists of a partial copy of "John Hamilton, yeoman of Concord; sketches of ten generations of one branch of the Hamilton family in America, 1658-1958." The genealogy, prepared by Charles Walter Hamilton, also includes biographical sketches of several family members who settled in Michigan in the 1860s and 1870s. Over half the original pages are missing from this copy.

Scope and Contents of the Papers The James Taylor papers include correspondence, receipts, and other materials dealing with his business and personal activities. Throughout the correspondence there are numerous letters concerning education, particularly at the college level. One letter, dated February 26, 1865 gives a good account of academic life at the University of Michigan. The collection also contains personal correspondence about life in general. Olive Butterfield Mosher autobiography

Scope and Contents The collection contains copy number 13 of Olive Butterfield Mosher's two volume autobiography which was compiled in 1988 by her nephew, Ira William Butterfield. Volume I contains copies of her published work "A Forest Fire" from the periodical, Good Old Days, and writings from the Burcham Hills Memory Book. There is also a typescript entitled “Lost in a Swamp.” Parts III through VI are photocopied from Olive Mosher’s various manuscripts and journals...
